Explore the World, One Dive at a Time
From colourful coral reefs to unique cultures, discover how travel and scuba diving can open up a whole new way of seeing the world.
I’m Rick Parker from Lancaster, UK. Travel has always been part of who I am, and any excuse to head somewhere new is a good one. In 2022, things took a turn I didn’t see coming. I met my other half, a seasoned diver, who suggested I give scuba a try. A few months later I was in Tulamben, Bali, pulling on a wetsuit for my PADI Open Water course. That first breath underwater changed everything.
Since then, diving has become more than a pastime. It’s a whole new way of exploring. I’ve been lucky enough to swim with Mola Mola in Nusa Penida, drift alongside hammerhead sharks in the Galápagos, observe a dugong in Marsa Alam, and photograph everything from frogfish and pygmy seahorses to tiny nudibranchs on volcanic sand. Every dive brings something different, and each one reminds me why I fell in love with the ocean.
This site is where I share that journey. From vibrant reefs and big marine life encounters to close-up macro photography and the cultures found above the surface, it’s all part of the adventure.
If you’re thinking about diving or just curious to see what it’s like, you’re in the right place. Let’s turn the world into your next dive site.
Where I’ve Been Diving
I’ve been lucky enough to see so much of the world, but my dive story only began in 2022 when I took my PADI Open Water course in Bali. Since then, I’ve been hooked and always looking for the next underwater adventure. I don’t really keep a traditional logbook, my joy is updating this site and my map with each new destination.
On the map below you’ll see the countries I’ve visited highlighted in green. The clickable dots show the dive spots I’ve explored so far. Click on a dot to read about each one and what it’s like to dive there. You can also scroll through the dive destination slider below to quickly explore each trip I’ve written about.
